Our Story

MyTown Maple Syrup is a family affair.

The earliest example is a photo of Nelson Smith as a young boy of 4 in 1910 boiling sap with his family in two large metal pots over a roaring fire with his father Robert. 

Lorne, his son, purchased the existing woodlot near Bobcaygeon in 1980 and soon after started tapping a few trees and boiling in the same type of iron and copper pots over an open fire. 

This has grown into MYTOWN MAPLE SYRUP that involves all members of the family, children and grandchildren, during the maple syrup season each spring.
